Two of Elite Golf Program's finest tee'd it up in our partner's Tour Championship. That is the MJT Tour Championship which was held at Lagacy Golf Resort in the beautiful city of Phoenix. Legacy was prime for scoring as Darin got off to a hot start with a solid two over par 73 that included a birdie on the 9th for an even par front nine. Jeff wasn't far behind though with a 5 over 76. Both players sat in the Top 15 after day one, behind the leader (69 -2). Jeff played his way into the Top 10, sitting 8th respectively after a final round 72 for a very impressive 148 total. Darin fired a good round of 78, which kept him inside the Top 15 and a nice way to close out the year. Both players played well and we would like to congratulate them on the finishes! See you in 2015 guys!

The POTM win vaults Drew to the top of the EGP Player of the Year points race, and gets him excited for the month of April! After the first day EGP members Grayson Constable and Drew Harvie were in contention for 2nd as runaway first day leader Matthew richot shot a -1 71 to lead by ten into the second day. Drew drifted out of contention with a second round 88 to finish T-5. It was all grayson as he started off scrambly, with a triple off the 10th (his first) and then played the final 8 holes in 4 holes to finish with a 43 on the back (his front). He played the back nine (his front) in five over  to cap out an impressive 41 on a quick day on the greens at the Superb Lethbridge Country Club. He talked about his round after, "it was a tough day out on the course, started of really rough but work my way back to the top of the leaderboard. With the high wind speed's and the fast greens I was pleased with the way I played. Deffenetly room for improvement.Congrats to Matt Richot on his victory".

MJT final round provides tough finish for EGP members

The final round of MJT In chestamere provides gloomy weather and spotty rain for the competitors. Grayson lead off with 4 over through 3 holes, and made the turn at 41. His back nice was solid except for the fact that 2 balls went OB on 17, to take him out of contention for low Lethbridian. Overall though it was not a bad week as he shot his lowest round in the second round with a 78, which is something positive to look forward to next year going forward. Drew Harvie started off with three straight bogeys, then three straight pars, than 2 bogeys in a row. He stepped up to the ninth, and tripled for a disappointing 43 front. It was a good back for Drew as he was 3 over heading to 16, jarred a wedge to about 8 feet and rolled in the putt. He played the final 3 holes in 2 under for a back nine 37 to top off a decent week and a 80. Darin Bertchi, who tried out for the team and currently sits 3rd behind Drew and Grayson shot 85 in the final round.

Day 2 better for EGP teammates, still not great

The second day of the MJT at Lakeside greens yeilded a lot of low scores on a day that was rype for scoring. Today was better for Grayson as he ended up shooting 78 for a respectable score through 36 holes of 166. Drew however did not have a very solid day as his first tee shot hit a tree on the left, giving him about 200 in on the par 4 1st, which measured 400 yards. Drew hit a 4 iron into the green, pin high right, and 2 putt for par. He went out in 42, a rough stretch of holes that included a triple and a double, with 2 bogeys to top the front nine off. He started 2 under on the back through 3 holes and let bad iron play spoil his round. Drew went double, double, double on the next three holes and ended up shooting 41 on the back for a OK round of 83 with a total of 157 through 36 holes. Drew is tied with fellow Lethbridge native and EGP tryoutee, Darin Bertchi, who went 76, 81 for a 157 total as well. Leader: 70-68 138 Drew Harvie T-11 74-83 157 Darin Bertchi T-11 76-81 157 Grayson Constable 14th 88-78 166

Elite Golf Program teammates go seperate ways on day 1

Posted on August 7, 2013 at 10:05 PM Comments comments (0)

On a beautiful day where the greens were slow and fairways were hard, Grayson Constable and Drew Harvie tied to conquer a lakeside greens course with water on 13 of it's 18 holes. Drew was near the leaderboard the whole way as he was 1 over on the 18th tee, hit a chuck-hook-sky hybrid and had 215 in to the pin over water. He elected to go for it. He chucked his hybrid and had to drop about 150 out, hit a solid 8 iron and 2 putted for a double bogey to sit in a tie for 3rd with 4 others at +3. It was different for Grayson as he would have been 78 but a fellow playing competitor, kept giving him unfair rule calls and ended up being 10 strokes in penalties.

Mason Harder joins EGP

Mason Harder has joined Elite Golf Program due to Sam Paskuski's drop out. Mason's membership was almost a lock throughout the season with his EGPGC win, and we would've seen him become a member sooner than later. With his membership he leads the EGP Cup race, and has had an already impressive year so far. We're lucky to have Mason!
